My portraiture work is an ode to the women in my life. Women in my family have always been strong figures, driven, hard workers, outspoken, inspiring, and pillars of the family. I became a photographer when most women I admired and grew up with were no longer in this world. I am honoring the women of my past by celebrating the women in my present whom I met since I moved to Bern, Switzerland, who are new acquaintances, family, or close friends, muses to my work. This work balances past and present, desire and memories.
My still life work embraces memories of my childhood that smell like long weekends in my grandparents' countryside home. Chasing fireflies in the dark with my bare feet on the grass. A place that holds me and my family for eternity. I use color to evoke my hometown, Mexico City, inspired by the medieval city of Bern.
